Pigeon Forge Motels

Motels became prominent in the United States after the advent of the interstate highway system simplified cross country travel. A motel, or motor hotel, is a lodging where visitors park outside their rooms and enter through a door leading to the parking lot. This is different from a hotel, where travelers enter through a lobby area and do not have as easy access to their automobiles. Motels can be more convenient for many travelers, especially families with lots of children. Motels are also usually less expensive than hotels.

Though motels are often more economical than hotels, they are not inferior. Many motels offer the same amenities as hotels, like Jacuzzis, on site swimming pools, and cable TV. One thing that motels usually don't offer is an on-site restaurant, but many visitors would prefer to eat away from their lodgings anyway.

Pigeon Forge is designed in a way similar to Las Vegas, with a central strip featuring a majority of the town's lodging. This setup means that each establishment must compete with its neighbors for business, providing better accommodations and amenities at less cost to the consumer. Another advantage is that all of the cities attractions are also close to the main strip, so nothing is too far away. Aside from the main strip, many Pigeon Forge lodgings are located closer to the Great Smoky Mountains and other private areas, providing more privacy for romantic getaways.

There is a vast array of available Pigeon Forge lodging like motels that can accommodate large families or travelers on a budget. Motels offer convenience and comfort for visitors at a lower cost than hotels.

Dowsing ? Using Divining Rods To Obtain Answers To Your Questions

Divining Rods, also known as Dowsing Rods, have been used since ancient times by water witchers, shamans, and wise-ones. Although the information obtained while using these tools seems to come from an obscure and esoteric source, in reality they simply measure energy patterns that occur naturally.

To better understand this concept, it becomes necessary to understand a few basic laws. Firstly, we live in a universe of energy. We human beings are, in reality, energy beings. We all have an energy body, or aura, that surrounds and penetrates through our physical bodies. It's as if energy or light radiates outward, from our center, and this energy field is larger than our physical selves. It is through this energy body that we send and receive energy vibrations.

Have you ever had the phone ring and before picking up the receiver you sense who is on the other line? Have you ever phoned someone that you haven't spoken to in a while, and that person says, "That's so strange. I've been thinking about getting in touch with you, and now you call."

It is because when we think about someone our aura naturally sends out a certain vibration, or frequency, that can be felt by others, especially when others are "sensitive" to energy. We all have these innate "sensitivities", and when we begin to refine them to a much greater degree, we find that our feelings or hunches can be quite accurate. It's often just a matter of tuning in, of eliminating the noise and distraction of everyday life that we begin to perceive these energy vibrations in much greater detail. That is the reason why meditation can be extremely helpful in learning to develop our natural psychic abilities.

One way to speed up this process is to work with Divining Rods. Just like with any other skill that we would like to improve on, practice makes perfect. If we want to be excellent tennis players, we must play a lot of tennis in order to perfect our game. If we want to enhance and develop our sixth sense, we need to exercise it. Divining Rods make excellent tools for doing just that. And, in the process, we can have a lot of fun, too.

To use Divining Rods, hold one in each hand by the handles only. Hold your arms up (open armpits), with hands approximately 9 inches apart from each other. Relax, and clear your mind. Too much intensity will cause the rods not to work. The ideal state for you to be in is one of being open, rather than trying to be in control.

Start by mentally asking the rods "Which way means YES?" Remember to remain relaxed and to breathe normally. The rods should start to move, probably moving so that they cross each other. Once they have finished moving, mentally say "Thank you", which will allow the rods to go back into their normal, neutral state. Now mentally ask "Which way means NO?" The rods will probably move into a position of being wide open. Once again, mentally say "Thank you" to allow the rods to go into the neutral state again.

Once you get the hang of it you can begin asking questions, phrased in a way that the answer will be either yes or no. For example: Question: Is today Monday? Is today Friday? etc. Be specific with any question you ask or the rods will not answer. For instance, instead of asking "Will I be rich?" ask "Will I make at least $100,000 in the year 2000?" Or, ask, "Will I buy a new car within the next 12 months?" If the answer is YES, you can begin to narrow it down by asking, "Will I buy a new car within the next 6 months, 3 months, 1 month?", etc.

It is best to start with questions that you really don't care one way or the other about the answer. The more detached you are about the questions you ask, the more accurate your reading will be. When asking very important or emotional questions, it's a good idea to start by asking a series of unimportant questions, as a way of warming up and enabling you to stay in a more neutral state when you get to the more important questions.

It's also possible that the rods will open for a yes, and cross for a no. If that happens, that is fine, and is the right way for you to use them. Everybody is different, so always start by asking "Which way is yes?", etc. If all else fails, hand them to a child and ask them to try them. Children tend to be very open to dowsing energies. Remember that being too willful can corrupt the accuracy of your reading.

For enhanced accuracy and protection when doing any kind of divination work, I highly recommend that you prepare a sacred space to work within. This can be accomplished in any number of ways, including, but not limited to, saying prayers of protection, calling on the higher power through meditation, etc. You'll find that just a few minutes spent in such a manner will bring about a greater sense of well-being, and a make the divination easier to do while allowing greater amounts of information to flow to you quickly.

And as with all things, when using these amazing tools always remember the two magic words, "please" and "thank you". When your heart is in the right place, and you ask humbly, and express sincere gratitude, you will find the answers you seek.

Stop Screwing Up Your Sales Letter

"Sales Letter"... that's your web site's sales page. The page with the carefully written copy designed to convince a visitor that they will benefit from buying what you are selling.

I began direct marketing before the internet and learned the basics of mail order marketing. I am glad to say that many webmaster have adopted the teachings of the old time, direct mail copy writers. They learned the hard way what would sell and what would not.

Mail order means spending thousands of dollars on every mailing. If that mailing doesn't produce sales there is hell to pay. Copywriters learn fast or they were out of work.

No, much of the writing on the internet is good. The problem is most have not learned about basic layout.

Notice how often you see a good sales message delivered in a very small, gray font. It's hard to read even when your nose is almost touching your computer screen.

Many people don't have perfect vision... plus our population is growing older and seeing well can be a challenge for seniors. Why obscure your sales message?

People will not work to understand what you are saying. It's hard enough to capture a visitor's eyeballs with a great headline... don't lose them because they have to strain to read the copy. One click and they're gone!

Use a font like Arial... large and black, so it jumps off the page.

Your page is too wide! Your lines too long!

If your sales letter fills the most screen your sentences will be way to long to read comfortably.

The eye likes to scan a few words and then move down to another line. That's what it has been trained to do with newspapers. Newspapers have their text in easy to scan columns.

Even hard cover books have very readable pages... and that's about as long as you would want a sentence to be.

Please, no more small fonts and long, long sentences.

Finally, white only for your background... black type on a white background.

And, please, never...ever put white type on a black background. If you run a split test you will learn it just does not sell!

Short sentences and paragraphs always. Seldom should a paragraph be longer than two or three sentences.

Paragraphs must be indented. Testing mail order letter's proved that indenting helped to draw the eye from the end of one paragraph to the first line of the next?

and increased sales.

All words, including headlines, in upper and lower case. Why, because that is what the eye is accustomed to seeing. It's not nice to confuse eyeballs!

Everything concerning your sales letter must capture and hold your visitor's interest and attention or your brilliant writing will fail.

The details discussed here can increase your sales by 3% to 10% or more... so just stop screwing up your sales letter!

Managers, Got a Grip on Your PR?

What are you trying to do with your business, non-profit or association public relations program? Get a little publicity for a service or product? Or, perhaps, you're doing what you really should do, persuade your key external stakeholders to your way of thinking, then move them to take actions that lead to the success of your department, division or subsidiary.

To reach that objective, and get a real grip on your PR effort, you need a model like this: people act on their own perception of the facts before them, which leads to predictable behaviors about which something can be done. When we create, change or reinforce that opinion by reaching, persuading and moving-to-desired-action the very people whose behaviors affect the organization the most, the public relations mission is accomplished.

No small matter because this blueprint will help you redirect the focus of the public relations folks assigned to your unit from communications tactics over to your external audiences in a way that allows you to move ever closer to personal success as a unit manager.

The reason this PR paradigm works is that it requires you as the unit manager to zero in on exactly those people who play a big role in how successful a manager you're going to be ? your key external audiences.

The perceptions held by your most important outside audiences are crucial to your success. So meet with your PR crew and hammer out a consensus as to why it's vital to nail down just how your operation is perceived out there in the real world. They'll tell you quick-like that those perceptions almost always result in predictable behaviors that can help you or hurt you.

Which means you need to interact with members of your most important target audience while posing a number of questions. "What do you know about our organization? Have you ever made contact with us? Was it a satisfactory experience? Do you have an opinion about our people, services or products? Do you have a problem with our organization?

By the way, if your budget allows a significant expense, you can retain the services of professional survey people to interview target audience members. Of course your own PR staff is already concerned with perception and behavior matters, so they might lend a hand in this regard.

Those participating in monitoring the perceptions of your key target audience must watch carefully for negative responses to your questions. In particular for untruths, misconceptions, inaccuracies, rumors or false assumptions.

The data collected during the perception monitoring interviews are the ammunition needed to identify the corrective public relations goal. Examples might be, fix the untruth, clarify the misconception, or kill the rumor.

You still need help, however. Without a strategy to tell you how to reach that goal, not much is going to happen. You have a choice of three strategies. You can create perception/ opinion where there may be none, you can change existing perception, or you can reinforce it. But be certain that your new strategy is a natural fit with the public relations goal you selected.

Now, identify your best writer because you must put together the message which will do the heavy lifting when it alters any questionable perceptions among your target audience members. The message must not only be persuasive, but compelling as well. And it should aim for both factual accuracy and believability if it is to do the job. You may also wish to consider a lower profile means for delivering the message ? perhaps during a presentation on another matter ? so as not to raise eyebrows by using the press release format.

Actually getting your message to the right people ? members of your target audience ? is not complex. You have a wide selection of communications tactics at your disposal. They include presentations, brochures, newsletters and personal contacts as well as media interviews, articles, open houses and many others. But check carefully that those your select actually do reach people similar to those who make up your target audience.

You need results, as do all managers. And the best way to be certain your new public relations effort is succeeding is to return to perception monitoring mode and ask the same questions all over again. The difference the second time around is, you and your team will be on the lookout for signs that the negatives you discovered are actually being altered, and that your target audience perception is moving in your direction.

Fortunately, you can put things on a faster track by adding more communications tactics, AND increasing certain frequencies.

You'll know you have a solid grip on your public relations effort when you avoid communications tactics as a major focus and, instead, apply your resources to persuading your key external stakeholders to your way of thinking, then move them to take actions that lead to the success of your department, division or subsidiary.

Bullies

Bullies are an ugly but very real part of childhood. There's not much we can do to protect our children from these cruel and brutal kids except teach them how to defend themselves from an otherwise unprovoked attack of the bullying kind.

Bullies are kids who have tremendous low self-esteem. They feel better about themselves by tormenting another, usually smaller or weaker child. If a bully decides to pick on someone that is not smaller in size but otherwise imagined as weak, they will usually have a gang around to further ensure the unfairness of the battle. They do not fight fair, nor do they understand compassion, dignity or basic integrity. Gee, wonder where they learned these lovely qualities?

A larger, stronger individual has most likely bullied a child who feels the need to bully another smaller or weaker child. Parents or caretakers who regularly torment or abuse their children are teaching these children to torment and abuse others who are not able to stand up to their size, strength or perceived power. These parents or caretakers are bullies themselves. Adult bullies are spouse beaters, verbal abusers, child abusers and the type of person we see personified in fiction as the menace to weaker, gentler people everywhere. They are the ones we love to hate in movies and books. Sadly, they are merely carrying on the tradition of their upbringing.

All we can do is teach our children to stand up for themselves in this situation ... to avoid kids who have nothing better to do than torture other children and how to defend themselves if they ever do become the target of a bully.

We do not regularly teach our children to kick someone's teeth down their throat or fill their ears with a vicious verbal attack but I do believe that, under extenuating circumstances, children should be taught to fight back, to do whatever it takes to stop their attacker. Children might ignore a name caller or walk away from an instigator, but to do nothing when physically hurt by another child (or adult) leaves them defenseless. I have told my daughters to never start a fight but to always finish one, if possible. They have my total approval in defending themselves, whatever it takes. As much as we don't want to tell our kids to hurt another, do we really want to see our kids get hurt themselves? Of course not.

My older daughter was tormented last year for the first few months of school by a group of boys who clearly had no idea how to relate to a cute girl. ;-) She was pretty freaked out ... at first. Then she fought back, giving them a dose of their own medicine. She stood up for herself with dignity and more smarts than the boys were capable of responding to. They are now all very good friends. These boys would fight to the death for her if she were threatened. They huddled around and comforted her when she didn't make the cheer leading team. They STILL apologize for having tortured her! Yes, she is a strong-minded kid. A lot of kids aren't. Those are the little darlings who need to learn to defend themselves the most.

Sometimes, enrolling a child, especially a boy, in a self-defense class works wonders for their self-esteem. They are instructed from the first day that they are not to use their newfound talent on another human being, however, the inner strength and physical control they learn can do wonders for their shy and reserved natures. Other good avenues for a child in need of a boost are sport lessons, gymnastics or possibly acting or dance classes for a child who expresses a desire to learn the arts. The better kids feel about themselves, the less likely they are to become victims or bullies in life. A good heart to heart conversation, where the child is heard and understood, can also work miracles in healing a wounded spirit. A child who bullies other children needs to be stopped. They are in desperate need of instruction on caring for and nurturing others. Sometimes, a simple "How would YOU feel ...?" can jar a recessed nerve in their brain to awaken compassion and respect. Naturally, these lessons are best learned at home but a child who is on his way to becoming a sociopath needs help wherever he can get it.

Approaching the parents of a bully is probably one of the most unrewarding encounters you might have. They most likely have taught their child to be a bully, albeit unconsciously through a variety of abusive behaviors. I think it is imperative that these parents be made aware of their child's antisocial problem, whether from the school or another parent whose kid has become a victim of the bully. In so doing, we might indirectly encourage some of these parents and caretakers to reevaluate their family values and environment.

Camera Cell Phone Picture

Camera cell phone picture - recent development.

Camera cell phone picture is a recent development. You can take a camera cell phone picture with any of the camera cell phones that are available on today's market. There are many phones (Samsung SGHV-205 and Samsung SPH-a600 digital camera phones, for example) produced by most major cellular phone companies like Samsung, Motorola, Nokia, LG, Sanyo, and many more. These phones and cameras are technologically advanced and they are becoming more and more cutting edge.

Camera cell phone picture is usually somewhat of a different quality compared to lets say a digital camera picture. The camera cell phone picture has less focus and has smaller resolution. But it is still of a good quality, especially if you have one of the newer camera cell phones and a good color LCD screen. I some cases the pictures taken by the cell phone camera will have a better quality if you will email them from your phone to your email address.

Camera cell phone picture is an excellent way to store something for future memories. You don't have to run around looking for a regular camera to take a photo of something. All you have to do is take out your camera cell phone and you are ready. Your phone is smaller then most of the regular cameras, it is most likely with you everywhere you go, and you don't have to spend more money on a camera.
